The Harvard College Friends of Scouting in conjunction with Spirit of Adventure Council presents Merit Badge University (MBU) 2019.  Merit Badges are an important part of the Scouts BSA Program.  At MBU, Scouts may earn up to three badges that are not typically available in a camp or troop setting including almost 20 STEM-related merit badges at Harvard University.

Session 1: Saturday, March 2 (8 AM – 2:30 PM)

Session 2: Saturday, April 6 (9 AM – 2:30 PM)

Both sessions are required. Some badges have a field trip on an intervening Saturday or Sunday to be determined by individual Merit Badge Counselors. Registering for session one automatically registers you for the same merit badges in session two.

For some badges, some requirements must be done prior to the first Saturday session. Counselors will correspond with Scouts in February with this information. To complete some merit badges, other work will need to be done between the first and second session and emailed to the counselor.

If you plan on joining a Scouts BSA troop in February, you are welcome to register for MBU!

Period 2  10:45am- 12:15pm

Period 3   1:00pm- 2:30pm

 

Each Merit Badge will be offered in all three periods with the exception of…

• Public Health (9:00am- 12:15pm)
• Collections (Period 1 only)
• Animation (Periods 1 & 2 only)
• Fingerprinting (Period 2)
• Aviation (Periods 2 & 3 only)
• Moviemaking (Period 3 only) and Scouting Heritage (Period 3 only).

 

20% off for Scouts with the Adventure Card. Login with the User ID on your card when you register and the discount will be applied.

*If you would like to switch Merit Badges after you have registered, you may do so before Dec. 31st by logging back in to your account that you logged in to or created at registration.
