Slater sends this appeal for help repairing bridges on Mt. Greylock:

Dear Scouts and Friends,

I will be working on my Eagle Project next Saturday June 16th from 8:00 am to 6:00 p.m. We will meet at 8:00 AM at the Mount Greylock Visitor Center/park headquarters 30 Rockwell Road, Lanesborough, MA 01237. (Alternatively, meet at my home at 7:00 AM: 762 Main St Williamstown, MA.)

My project will be building and repairing log bridges on the Mt Greylock trails. It will benefit the hikers at this popular state park that connects to the Appalachian Trail. The scoutmasters from Troop 70 Mr. Rich Davis (spunky94@verizon.net) and Mr. Keith Davis (climbfoops@yahoo.com) have ok’d my asking for your help.

There will be free camping on Mt. Grelyock for those of you who choose to come and would need a place to stay the night. Please bring tents, sleeping bags, mess kits, boots, work clothes, work gloves, and other things you may need. Tools will be provided.

For those staying over Friday and/or Saturday night breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided for Saturday and a light breakfast on Sunday so for Friday you should bring a bagged dinner. Let me know If you have any food allergies. The goal is to finish all the work in one day.

If you can come out to help, please rsvp via email: Handbone13 at gmail dot com. You can contact my dad at docpayne at hotmail dot com.

Thank you for your help! I look forward to finishing my Eagle with you all.
