I will be offering the Canoeing merit badge soon. To earn this badge requires attendance at the following events listed below. This merit badge is excellent preparation for our two upcoming canoe trips in May and June.

EXPECTATIONS
** 5 Classroom sessions. These will be held from 6:30 – 7:00 PM at St. James’s Church just prior to the regular Scout meeting. Because of the short time frame it is very important to be on time. Also the class is largely Scout- taught: Each Scout will be given a topic & expected to prepare a 10 minute talk to be presented to the other Scouts to learn. Failure to prepare your topic means that everyone misses that requirement.

**Passing the BSA Swimmer Test

**Basic paddling lesson

**Learning and performing a canoe capsize and rescue  (2 persons per canoe).

I hope everyone is having a fun February Break so far. Remember you might want to try to do some advancement over break because Court Of Honor is April 10th.

There is no Tuesday Meeting because of February Vacation.

Dear Everyone

The cross country trip was very fun and people had a blast.

This Tuesday’s-meeting I am asking Harrison to do the pledge allegiance, Roberto to do the Scout Oath, and Nathaniel do the Scout Law.

We will be in patrol for finishing flags, doing knot tying skills, and have a February trip reflection, and game.

On Tuesday, Feb 6, we will work in patrols and finalize gear for the 9-11Feb ski trip.

This will be my first meeting as your president and I’d like you all to come in uniform with your scout books. I have asked Patrol leaders Harrison and Kavita to lead us in saying the pledge of allegiance and the scout oath. I will lead us in saying the scout law.

Hello everyone,

This week we will have a pack check, so everyone who is going, bring your bags. We will be distributing AMC gear too, so be ready. Ms. Holmes also wants to finalize plans for the wilderness first aid trip, so people going there need to get ready too.

Hello everyone,

Tomorrow we will be splitting the group into two patrols, then sam will lead those going on the trip in preparing for a pack check and meals. If we have time wr will let the patrols come up with a name, call, and flag.

As we’ve discussed at a couple previous meetings, our unit is getting ready to take on a high adventure trip this summer! A small group of us will spend a week canoeing in the Maine wilderness with experienced guides on 7-13 July (please note the date change), and we still have a few open spots left for this opportunity!

All registered youth who are 13 years of age before 1 Sep 2018 are eligible. Please read the attached document and feel free to email me if you have any additional questions.

So far, we have going:
Adults: Andrés and Jeni
Youth: Harrison, Dante, Roberto, Daniel Ballesteros
We have spots available for a few more youth, but we need a signed contract (attached) and the first round of payments* by February 1st to guarantee your spot!
