Thanks for your Community Service!

The following Scouts each worked a 2 hour shift at St. James’s Helping Hands Food Pantry yesterday:

Kevin, Henry, Harrison, Lixing, Hima, & Gray

These Scouts sorted and distributed food, and assisted with bags and carts for 50 families. The uniformed Scouts made a big and positive impression on the guests who gave them loud applause. They were also given kudos at today’s church service.

These Scouts exemplified the Scout Laws of Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, and Kind.

A big THANK YOU to the 6 of you!
Michelle

SC56: Wilderness First Aid course now open for adults

Dear Parents and Adult volunteers of Scouting Collective 56,

There are spaces for 4 adults to take the Wilderness First Aid course sponsored by the premier providers of such teaching, SOLO.
Details are as follows:

–The course will be held at SOLO headquarters in Conway NH.
–We will drive up on Friday evening Feb 2. The course is all day Saturday and Sunday Feb 3-4.
–Not all of will need to drive but it will be good to know who can.
–We will spend Fri & Sat night at my country home 20 miles away; I don’t have 12 beds so some will need to “camp” on the floor
–The course is hands-on, active, indoors and outdoors. It includes CPR certification. It is an excellent course that I have taken many times, and gives you great confidence to lead outdoor groups.
–The cost (~$170) is typically paid for by our Cambridge Scouting Trust Fund. Because of that, the priority is for registered leaders who are willing to lead a trip in the coming scout year (2018-19)

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GO PLEASE EMAIL ME BACK ASAP WITH THE INFORMATION BELOW:

–Name / email / cell phone
–Are you BSA registered?
–Can you commit to leading/co-leading a Scout trip in 2018-19?
–Can you drive on the Feb 2-4 weekend

Thanks! Michelle Holmes
